North Florida Fire and EMS Training, LLC in cooperation with the Holley-Navarre Fire District is proud to announce the 1st Annual North Florida Fire Expo on March 5-7, 2020 in beautiful Navarre, Florida! Mark you calendars and come learn from and train with some of the best in the business! All profits from this years conference will be going to support Ms. Dee May (administrative assistant with the Holley-Navarre Fire District). Ms. Dee was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. With mounting healthcare costs being such a major issue faced by cancer patients, we decided to do something to help her and her family. We hope you'll come out and take part of some great training and fellowship and in doing so help us help one of our own!

Keynote Speaker

Deputy Chief Anthony Avillo

We are excited to have North Hudson (NJ) Regional Fire and Rescue Deputy Chief  (ret.) Anthony Avillo as our Keynote Speaker! Chief Avillo is a 35 year veteran of the fire service, is the author of "Fireground Strategies" and co-author of "Full Contact Leadership". Chief Avillo teaches at FDIC and is an FDIC advisory board member. He has contributed to works such Fire Engineering's Tactical Perspectives DVD Series (2011), Fire Engineering's Handbook for Firefighter I and II and contributed to both volumes of Chief Billy Goldfeder's Pass It On books, wrote a column for Fire-Rescue Magazine (Progress Reports) and co-hosts Fireground Strategies and Other Stuff from the Street with Chief Jim Duffy on Fire Engineering BlogTalk Radio. In addition to Chief Avillo being the Keynote Speaker he will also being teaching his "Full Contact Leadership" class on March 6th! 

"The Anatomy of a Rescue"
Shannon and DJ Stone

Division Chief of Operations Shannon Stone (Midway FD) and Battalion Chief DJ Stone (FWBFD) will be presenting their FDIC class "Anatomy of a Rescue" Lecture on March 5th! We are excited to have the Stone Bros from 850 Fireman presenting on Day 1 of the Expo! 

"Searchable vs Survivable"
Sean Duffy

15 year veteran fireman Sean Duffy currently serving with Pasco County (FL) Fire Rescue and co-founder of Build Your Culture will be presenting his Searchable vs. Survival Lecture on May 5th! This is a down and dirty look and how we search, fundamental best practices and emphasizes putting THEM first. Sean will also be teaching his Searchable vs Survivable 8-hour LIVE FIRE Hot Class!

"The Initial Attack Line"
Anthony Rowett Jr.

Port City Fire Training Owner and Mobile Fire Rescue Captain Anthony Rowett Jr. will be in the house speaking about "The Initial Attack Line" on March 5th! Anthony has presented numerous times at Firehouse Expo and will be presenting this class at FDIC 2020! 

"The Go To Company" and "Firefighter Survival and Rescue/Tactical RIT Operations"
Carl Hohenstein and Chris Brown

Carl Hohenstein and Chris Brown of All In Fire Training will be presenting their lecture "The Go To Company" on Day 2! Then Carl, Chris and Holley-Navarre FD Firefighter Clay Witt will be putting on a high-speed, in-depth "Firefighter Survival and Rescue/Tactical RIT Operations" HOT class on Day 3! Carl brings nearly 30 years of firefighting experience to the table and is currently the head of the Northwest Florida State College Fire Academy. Chris has over 17 years of career firefighting experience and currently serves as a District Chief for Walton County (FL) Fire-Rescue. He is also the Lead Instructor at Northwest Florida State College Fire Academy. Carl and Chris Co-Own All In Fire Training. 

"Mastering the 850 Engine Company" and "Truckies are LOVERS" 
Joel Richardson

 Veteran Escambia County (FL) Lieutenant Joel Richardson will be leading his "850 Engine Company" HOT on March 6th and his "Truckies are LOVERS" HOT on March 7th! Joel is a very active member of the local and regional public safety community. Joel has worked on busy fire companies in Escambia county and currently serves as the company officer on Engine Co. 6 in the Ensley district. 

"The Tactical Engine"
Nick Peppard

Nick Peppard has 14-years experience in several busy Florida FDs. Nick is currently a Captain with the Holley-Navarre FD assigned to Engine Co. 41 on the District's west side. Nick is also the owner/operator of North Florida Fire and EMS Training, LLC. He will be teaching "The Tactical Engine" lecture on Day 2 and along with the North Florida Fire and EMS Training cadre will be teaching The Tactical Engine HOT class on Day 3!

"Advanced Extrication"
Bud McMahon, Jeff McVay and the TNT Rescue Systems Cadre

Hattiesburg (MS) Battalion Chief (ret.) and TNT Rescue Systems Vice President, Bud McMahon and his fellow TNT Instructors will be holding the an 8-Hour Advanced Extrication HOT class on Friday, March 6th! This class will cover everything from basic to advanced stabilization, basic to advanced extrication techniques and will put students in a variety of real world scenarios (vehicles on their side, upside down, under rides, etc.) If you are looking for an intense day of extrication training then join Bud, Jeff and the crew in the pit!

"Introduction to Through The Lock (TTL) and Respectful Entry"
Justin Matusiak

Justin Matusiak brings over a decade of veteran firefighting experience. Justin is currently a fireman with the Tallahassee (FL) FD serving Florida's Capitol City. Justin's passion for forcible entry is evident from the first conversation. He truly has found his niche in the fire service and is a wealth of knowledge in both conventional and through the lock methods. Justin will be presenting his "Through the Lock & Respectful Entry" Lecture on Day 2!

"The Elephant in the Firehouse"
Steve Greene

Steve Greene, executive producer of Dalmatian Productions and creator and host of the Five Alarm Task Force Podcast will be presenting his course "The Elephant in the Firehouse" which examines the one of the biggest issues facing the modern fire service: Cancer. Additionally, we are excited to work with Steve to host another episode of Tactics On Tap at Juanas Pagodas at 6pm on March 5th! 

"Taking Care of Ourselves and Others"
Christopher Hart

Veteran firefighter/paramedic, Lt. Chris Hart of the Midway Fire District will be with us teaching his "Taking Care of Ourselves and Others" Lecture on March 6th! Chris brings 29 years of experience in emergency services (13 with Midway FD) to the table. Chris is the PEER Support Coordinator for Midway FD and has sat on numerous CISM briefings over the years. With suicide becoming an epidemic in the fire service, Chris has made it his focus to make sure we are taking care of our own both physically and mentally. 

"Everything Saws for the Fire Service"
Julio Ramos

Julio Ramos is a 12 year Lieutenant/Paramedic with a large urban department in Central Florida. He has spent the last 7 years assigned to his department's special operations team and FLUSAR TAsk Force 4. He is the co-administrator of East Coast Fire Tactics and the Owner/Lead Instructor for his company Fireground and Special Operations Concepts, LLC. Julio will be presenting his "Everything Saws for the Fire Service" Lecture on Day 2 and his 8-hour Everything Saws HOT Class on Day 3! If you want to REALLY learn fire service saws, this is the class for you!

"The 2 1/2: Back to the Basics"
Arron Sandoval

15 year veteran Captain, Arron Sandoval will be bringing his gritty, blue collar HOT Class "The 2 1/2: 

Back to the Basics". This fast pace, hard-hitting HOT class will help students build their comfort level with the "big line"  in a variety of real-life, practical scenarios.

"1st Due/2nd Due: Same Job For The Minimally Staffed"
Ron Givens

Capt. Ron Givens of Shut Up And Train, LLC located in Southwest FL will be on hand presenting his lecture and HOT class "1st Due/2nd Due: Same Job For the Minimally Staffed" classes on Day 3! This class is a fast paced, hard charging, interactive class designed to show students how to make the most with limited staffing! Ron brings 15+ years of fireground experience to the table and is a fifth generation fireman.

Surviving the Dark Side: Breaking the Silence
Justin Marcum

Justin is currently a fire fighter paramedic who has been serving his community for 15 years in Pensacola, FL. He works for Escambia County Fire Rescue assigned to Station 4 in Cantonment, which is an ALS station tasked with the HAZMAT response for the county. Justin is a Florida Fire Instructor 3 and has taught numerous classes with Fire Service Training LLC and also teaches BLS, ACLS, and PALS with CPR Pensacola. He is committed not only to providing initial and re-certifications, but providing a quality experience while doing so. Justin will be teaching a unique class looking at how to address mental health issues BEFORE they become major issues in the firehouse and home front.
